Cycle Overview
My 2nd adventure in the summer of 2015 was a Cross Country Cycle from New York to Los Angeles. (ending in my home town of Manhattan Beach. A 3625 mile trek across 13 different states through Cities, forests, plains, rivers, mountains, and deserts. I dodged traffic through big cities, I was chased by dogs in small towns, I was both loved and judged by local country folk. I crossed rivers by bridge and boat, traveled west across the great plains of Kansas and climbed the great Rocky Mountains. I enjoyed the natural beauty and views of National Parks through Utah and battled the extreme heat and lack of shade across the desert. I watched sunrises and sunsets from somewhere new everyday. Each day I chased a new sunset until I could ride no further and watch it set over the Pacific Ocean.
I gained new experiences, saw more beauty, made new friends, visited distant relatives and old friends, had surgery mid trip (appendix removal) recovered and finished the trip. I had both emotional breakdowns and physical/mental victories. I lost and found my way many times, never giving up (although it crossed my mind) and always accepting a new challenge.
